Daniel Silbert

I have been documenting weddings for the past 15 years with deep gratitude to my couples that place their unconditional trust in me. I favor the unique characteristics of film photography, allowing me to create timeless imagery that resonates with couples. My work reflects a deep appreciation for the artistry of photography, often utilizing natural light and direct flash to evoke a sense of nostalgia. My commitment to analog methods allows couples to relive their special day with a unique and heartfelt aesthetic, making each photograph a cherished keepsake that transcends the digital age. I have been featured in various exhibitions and publications, showcasing my ability to create compelling visual narratives.

I live in the village of Nyack, NY with my wife Erin, 2 kids Alife and Millie, and 3 dogs Archie, Betty and Richie.

Daniel Silbert

Documentary Wedding Photographer

"Watching Daniel work through our event was wonderful to see. It’s one thing to find a photographer who says they can meet your needs, but it’s another to see them in action on the day finding all the best shots. He was always one step ahead of the event, being in the right place at the right time. His photojournalistic approach captured many “in the moment” shots that we were looking for."

"Daniel! You captured us, the moment, the feeling, everything so beautifully. I just told Devin that when I saw you on Sunday, I took such an exhale. You have an incredibly warm and calming presence, on top of your artistic talent. We are so, so grateful that we met you and had the honor of your capturing our day."

"Daniel beautifully photographed my summer garden wedding last year. He immediately understood our artistic vision for the wedding and was truly enthusiastic about being a part of our special day. He did a truly phenomenal job capturing the love and emotion of that day. Daniel is a true artist in every sense, and his pictures are simply breathtaking. Working with Daniel as my photographer was one of the best decisions I made in planning my dream wedding."

FAQ

Do you send your photos to a lab?

I process and scan all of my film personally, in my own darkroom. I use a Noritsu 1800 which is the same scanner as professional labs and this way I am in complete control of my work.

When will we receive our final gallery?

You will receive a sneak peek within a week of your wedding, and the final gallery will be delivered within 60 days of your wedding date.

How much film do you typically Shoot?

There is no set amount of film however I always have 1-2 film cameras on me at all times. Typically I will shoot 10-40 rolls of film.

Where do you photograph weddings?

I'm based in NYC, but I photograph weddings  all over the US.

How does it work with apartment twenty?

Apartment Twenty is the agency that represents me. They handle the booking process, communicate with your planner and ensure that we have a seamless and 100% customized experience.

How many photos will I receive?

Each wedding is unique so the number of final photos will depend on the exact wedding, but anywhere between 500-900 photos will be included in your final wedding gallery. I curate a narrative of your day and select the photos that tell your story.

What if I don’t want my photos shared?

I 100% respect your privacy and routinely have clients that covet their privacy, and so I am very used to keeping weddings private.

Do you only shoot film?

I work with both film and digital. I have a deep love for film and include it in all of my wedding packages.
